Badi, a small Dalit community inhabiting some mid-western and far-western districts, some of women of this community are compelled to traditionally depend on prostitution for livelihood, are in Katmandu to protest demanding proper rehabilitation and alternative work guarantee from state for those who are still working as sex workers for the survival of their family.

Representing this Badi community a group of about 170 people are in Kathmandu since last month and are facing acute problem to meet their basic bread need.
Noticing their poor condition, NCCN general secretary visited Badi Movement Committee and protesting people of Badi community on 15 September and expressed solidarity with their movement to guarantee their rights to basic need for the survival. He as a prominent human rights activist and as a newly elected member of National human rights commission (NHRC) assured the protesting Badi community that he will also raise their voice in the meeting of NHRC.
NCCN also provided some food support to them to meet their basic bread need for about three days.
